Copper – Thermal Conductivity and Necessary Caution

Copper is a metal valued for its corrosion resistance and high thermal conductivity. This means that the spoon conducts heat quickly – if it comes into direct contact with hot charcoal or the hot metal surface of a ritual heater, it will heat up immediately.

This is not a design flaw. It is a material characteristic you need to be aware of.

The spoon is not meant to touch hot surfaces. It is meant to pick up material from the container and place it on top, at a distance, without direct contact. If it does get hot (through prolonged exposure to vapors or being too close to the heat source), set it aside and let it cool. Copper cools quickly – in 1-2 minutes it returns to room temperature.

The correct gesture: the spoon enters the frankincense container, picks up 2-3 granules, lifts them, places them on the heating surface, and withdraws. Without laziness, without haste.
